Its a long weekend here in OZ, the same long weekend the CoC MOAB event should have been on but cancelled and still living with restrictions. I tried to make the most of it and scratch built a USMC 37mm Anti-tank gun, Japanese 75mm Mountain Gun, 47mm Anti-tank gun and a 20mm AA gun. My initial plan was to build the Mountain gun but once I was in the swing of things I kept going and built the rest.
Plastic sprues, figure bases, styrene sheets, paper clips and viewing a large number of images on the web together with a bit of "guess-a-rama" were utilized in the construction of the scratch builds.
I have also started putting together both Japanese and US Marines plastic figures to man the guns.

I later decided to do away with the wheels. |
I do a bit of scratch building but dont have the extensive patience and skill you have. Well done.

Brilliant scratch-builds, John. I really admire your attention to detail & the fiddly bits you're able fashion so well. Four great guns there! I'm looking forward to seeing tge crews for these...
ReplyDeleteThank you Mark, yes started putting together the crew

Excellent work, particularly the two anti-tank guns with the various bitz in the back. That they are made from largely sprue and sheet plastic is amazing.

Truly masterful stuff, but be sure to keep in mind that the Japanese painted their equipment brown rather than green.
ReplyDeleteThanks Veroo for your comments, yes I think I will be leaning towards a brown greenish colour for the Japanese guns.
