More items for the Far East, scratch built a British Pillbox found in Malaya, Aussie Universal carrier with a Vickers, Figure firing a flare and a Japanese zero.
AUSSIE UNIVERSAL CARRIER WITH VICKERS MACHINE GUN
This is a Warlord games vehicle, I scratch built the Vickers and enlarged the front firing port to fit the machine gun. This vehicle is only available to the Australians. |
The vehicle crew consists of a Junior Leader and 4 crew, the Leader is the one pointing his finger. |
FLARE
A bit of conversion done to get this figure into a firing position, |
The figure will be placed with the Allies as a reminder that they have access to this asset. |
BRITISH PILLBOX
Scratched built a copy of the same British pillboxes found protecting the beach at Kota Bharu. |
Here is a image of a pillbox at Kota Bharu, it was large enough to house a section of infantry. |
Working out the floor plan of the pillbox. |
Paper template used to construct the floor using MDF. |
The side walls of the pillbox ready to be glued in place. |
Based, painted and flocked ready for the gaming table. |
Interior |
JAPANESE ZERO
This is Airfix kit of a Japanese Zero. The Japanese air support in the Far East rules can be quite detrimental to the Allies. |

Excellent additions John, great painting and weathering throughout . And very inventive with the flare gun-equipped figure, that is smart.

You have got a flare for this! LOL i also liked the colour of the pillbox. Loved the mdf instead of foamboard... its a lot more robust.
ReplyDeleteThanks Glasgow Warhog for your comments and love your sense of humor

Not sure which I am look forward to more, the infantry painting guide or the battle report. Needless to say everything on here is of astounding artistry.
ReplyDeleteBy the by, is there any particular reason you ditched AK Interactive's ultra matt varnish for its Vallejo counterpart, particularly since the latter appears to have something of an iffy reputation judging by some of the comments I have seen aired on a few forums? Asking because I am thinking ditching my Daler Rowney one for something more readily available where I am.
Hi Veroo, thank you for the comments, actually since, last year I have started to use Testors Dull Cote Matt enamel spray instead of the paint on Vallejo Matt finish. so 2 coats of Tamiya Gloss clear followed by 2 thin coats of Matt Dull cote this gives strong protection on the gaming table .
